Technical Officer Biodiversity Genomics

Mira (they/them) is a recent graduate of UNSW, having completed an Honours project looking into the landscape genetics of the Pink flannel flower (Actinotus forsythii), a rare and charismatic fire ephemeral.

They are particularly interested in the genetic consequences of peculiar life cycles, driven by environmental variables, and are currently working as part of the Restore and Renew project, running analysis to expand the quantity and quality of species accessible via the webtool. They are excited that the information is then accessible to conservation and restoration projects alike
